Privacy Policy
Kaizenware connects an AI assistant to your Google Tasks. It runs on your own computer. This policy explains exactly what it touches and what happens to it.
Summary. Kaizenware is local software, not a hosted service. There is no Kaizenware server, account system, or database. Your Google data moves between your own machine and Google's API. It is never sent to the developer, never sold, never shared, and never used for advertising or to train any AI model.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to Kaizenware ("the app", "we", "us"). Contact: contact@kaizenware.de.
2. What the app accesses
When you authorize the app, you grant it access to the following Google API scope, and no others:

The app does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, your profile, or any other Google service. It does not read data it was not asked to act on, and it takes write actions only in response to an instruction you give.
3. What is stored, and where
- OAuth tokens. After you approve the Google consent screen, Google issues an access token and a refresh token. These are written to a credentials file in your own user directory on your own machine, so that you do not have to re-authorize on every run. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Task content. Task titles, notes, due dates, and completion states are fetched from Google's API into the app's memory only for as long as it takes to serve the request you made. They are not written to any database or log of ours, because we operate none.
- No analytics or telemetry. The app does not send usage statistics, crash reports, identifiers, or task content to us or to any analytics provider.
4. Who your data is shared with
No one. We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your Google user data to third parties. We do not serve advertising and do not use your data for any advertising purpose. No human at Kaizenware reads your tasks, and no automated system of ours processes them.
Note that the app is a bridge between two parties you have separately chosen: Google, and the AI assistant you connect it to. Task content you ask the assistant to work with is processed by that assistant under its own privacy policy and terms — for example Anthropic's, if you use Claude. Please review the policy of whichever assistant you use, as your data's handling there is governed by that provider, not by us.
5. Google API Services Limited Use disclosure
Kaizenware's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide or improve the app's user-facing features; is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition; is not used for serving advertisements; and is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
6. Retention and deletion
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your machine and is under your control. To end access completely:
- Revoke the app under Google Account → Third-party apps & services. This invalidates the tokens immediately.
- Delete the app's local credentials file (typically
token.jsonalongside the app's configuration) and uninstall the app.
Your tasks themselves remain in your Google account, unaffected. Deleting the app does not delete your data from Google; managing that is done in Google Tasks directly.
7. Security
The app communicates with Google exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections and uses Google's standard OAuth 2.0 desktop loopback flow, so your Google password is never seen or handled by the app. Stored tokens are protected by your operating system's own file permissions. Because those tokens grant access to your task data, treat the credentials file as a password: keep it on a machine and account only you control, and revoke access if a device is lost or shared.
No system is perfectly secure, and a local file is only as protected as the machine it sits on. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for the security of the device you install the app on.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. As the app collects no data centrally, it holds no such information to remove.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data. Because we store none of it, these rights are exercised directly with Google, which is the controller of your Google Tasks data — see Google's Data & privacy controls. 10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes — in particular any change to the scopes requested or to how data is handled — will be reflected here before they take effect, and will require your renewed consent through Google where Google requires it.
