Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Kaizenware. The app is provided free of charge, runs on your own computer, and is used at your own discretion.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Kaizenware ("the app", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
2. What the app is
Kaizenware is a Model Context Protocol server that runs locally on your machine and connects an AI assistant of your choosing to your Google Tasks account. It is a bridge between services you already have; it is not a hosted service, and we do not operate servers that process your data. Handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
3. Your account and responsibilities
You need a Google account to use the app, and your use of Google Tasks remains subject to Google's own terms of service. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your Google credentials and the app's local token file secure.
- The instructions you give the app, and their consequences for your task data — including edits and deletions.
- Complying with applicable law and with the terms of any AI assistant you connect to the app.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to gain unauthorized access to accounts or data that are not yours, or to circumvent, overload, or abuse Google's APIs or rate limits. Do not represent the app as your own product or as endorsed by Google or by any AI provider.
5. Availability and changes
The app is offered as-is and may be changed, updated, or discontinued at any time without notice. Because it depends on the Google Tasks API and on third-party AI assistants, changes on their side may alter or break functionality at any time, outside our control. We are not obliged to provide support, updates, or maintenance.
6. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will not alter or delete task data in ways you did not intend. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, nor for any loss of data, tasks, profits, or goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by revoking its access under your Google Account permissions, deleting the local token file, and uninstalling it. We may cease distributing the app at any time. Sections 6, 7, and 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live are unaffected.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
